News Reports for Week 39
UIG Deploy "Special Forces" to Taiwan
A previously unacknowledged UIG taskforce has been deployed in Taiwan. Several hundred UIG operatives of unknown origin have been seen arriving by UIG anti-grav transports and taking up defensive positions around the disputed territory. No records can be found of the existence of the troops that are being observed. Their insignia mark them as part of "Task Force 1", but the UIG is not known to organise into such military structures. The make up and capabilities of Task Force 1 are a mystery and has left UIG analysts baffled.
The UIG has not released an official response to the deployment and unofficial communications with previously cooperative UIG sources have only returned "no comment" or in some cases outright denials. Bright & Sunny Media will continue to follow this strange story and report any developments.
Hong Kong Autometrics and Shanghai Cyberlin Concern Halt Production
HKA and the SCC have both halted production of cyberlins for both the domestic and international market. The companies cite urgent maintenance issues and resource shortages for the problem. HKA has announced facility shutdowns from now until week 50. SCC estimates that its construction yards will be offline until week 55.
