Isle of Man Armaments

IMA weapons are made in a small fabrication facility on the Isle of Man. The company is focused on providing extremely high quality weapons to individual customers looking for something different to the offerings from AMS.
IMA are experts at producing rapid firing, small calibre weapons.
Special thanks to Hollywood Hacker from the Deniable Resources forum for creating the company and weapons. I have modified the equipment significantly to reflect my own setting and opinions.
IMA weapons are only available directly from the manufacturer, so they must be bought as a minor action. The weapons are extremely high quality and will be provided at condition 11 by default. Higher condition weapons can be commissioned, just like on the ASM Orbital.

IMA IG-10 Laochra - Assault Rifle
Class: Tactical Firearm
Damage: 2D6 (semi-auto) / 4D6 (machine) / 1D6 (club)
Cost: 9,000
Range: Medium / Medium / Close Combat
Rate: 3 / Machine / 1
EMPS: Immune
Ammo: SMART
The Laochra is built to be an efficient, reliable weapon for dealing with lightly armoured targets. By firing smaller calibre projectiles it can be fired more rapidly than a traditional assault rifle, which in the hands of an expert marksman can make it much more effective. The rifle has two firing modes: Semi-automatic and fully automatic. Furthermore, because the weapon is made from very solid materials it can be used in close combat as a club, without having to worry about it losing condition levels.

IMA S5 Wolfhound Revolver - Silent Pistol
Class: Small Firearm
Damage: D12
Cost: 900
Range: Medium
Rate: 1
EMPS: Immune
Ammo: SMART

The Wolfhound is a very small revolver that uses pneumatic firing mechanisms to fire a bullet without a sound or muzzle flash. It is ideal for use in close range assassinations even in crowded areas (with the assassination training).

IMA SCU-50 Mhilleadh - Automatic Shotgun
Class: Tactical Firearm
Damage: Special
Cost: 7000
Range: Close / Medium
Rate: Special
EMPS: Immune
Ammo: SMART

The SCU-50 is a devastating weapon when used against un-armoured groups or individuals. It is best used by shotgun experts, who will get the most out of the rapid firing capabilities of the firearm.
The weapon can be used as machine weapon or as a semi-automatic weapon. Switching between modes is a free action.
When used as a machine weapon aiming at a single target will grant a +4 bonus to hit. The weapon deals 6D6 damage in this mode at normal range, or 6D8 damage in close range. Damage is calculated as per any other machine weapon.
When used in a semi-automatic mode, the SCU-50 has a rate of 2. It deals 2D8 damage at normal range and 3D8 at close range.
Using the weapon within 5m of the target/s will grant a +4 bonus to hit in both modes of operation.
Note: It requires a training to master each mode of firing with this weapon. Mastered Weapon: Shotgun for semi-automatic and Mastered Weapon: Machine Shotgun for fully automatic.

IMA MSB-10 Unicorn - Mortar launcher
Class: Support Weapon
Damage: As per rocket
Cost: 8000
Range: Medium, Long
Rate: 1
EMPS: Immune
Ammo: Rocket

The Unicorn mortar launcher allows rockets to be fired up and over defences to attack foes indirectly and at a great distance. The mortars can reach targets up to 1km away. If the user has set up a video or satellite feed to the targeted area they can make an Intelligence + Support weapons roll to calibrate it with the launcher (this takes 3 rounds if done in combat). This will allow them to target an area in real time and gives a +6 bonus to hit a target even if it is moving. Launching a mortar is a Perception + Support weapons roll. The weapon must be deployed before firing; this takes one round.

IMA AA-90 "Elephant Gun” - Anti-tank Laser Weapon
Class: Heavy Firearm
Damage: 9D10
Cost: 25,000
Range: Long
Rate: 1
EMPS: 12
Ammo: Energy - 1 shot per clip
The "Elephant gun" is designed to be carried by a single agent (Strength 10+) or two people (Strength 10+ between them). It cannot be fired without mounting it on a specially built tripod that is carried as part of the weapon. Setting up the tripod requires three rounds for one person or two rounds for two people. When the tripod is properly configured the weapon can be fired using either Heavy Weapons or Support Weapons skills. If used with a scope (sold separately) this gun can be used as a sniper weapon with the heavy weapon skill (not support weapons).
Requires a Special Equipment License.

Han spent a moment contemplating the various weapons arrayed on the display in front of him, carefully considering each of them while absent mindedly fingering the gift voucher he had received for Isle of Man Armaments. Waving over the guy running the stall, he asked, "Is it all right if I have a heft of one of these? I wanna see how it feels before I commit to buying." pointing to indicate the Automatic Shotgun.

The salesman looked young, perhaps in his mid twenties, and very slim. He smiled at Han as the question was asked and then replied in a thick Irish accent. "Sure t'ing! Will you be goin' to the firin' range with her?"
The salesman passed the loaded weapon over the counter to Han and gestured towards a concrete enclosure just next to the display. It was a firing range, only large enough for five people at a time, but with mechanised targets that would move away and towards the user as commanded. The paper figures at the end were decorated with generic 'criminal' black and white vector graphics, with the usual scores for kill zones. The queue to use the firing range was very short, since IMA make weapons for a very specialist market.

Han grinned and nodded. "Most definitely." He moved to the shooting range and let off a few cursory machine bursts for fun, before switching the target face in order to practice with the semi automatic mode. He took careful aim, setting his stance and firing position with it as he would a regular shotgun, and fired twice in rapid succession.

He surveyed the resulting damage.

(OOC: Does my mastered shotgun cover the semi auto mode of this beast?)

((OOC: Affirmative. Semi-auto is covered by shotgun mastery ))

The shotgun fired twice and Han barely felt the kick-back at all. The shells it fired were much smaller than the ones he was used to blasting people with, but when he looked at the target he could see that they were much more focused. Combined with the rate of fire offered by the shotgun, we would certainly be able to cause a lot of damage with the weapon when he aimed carefully.

Han smiled profusely as he held the shotgun in his hand, surveying every inch of it with the look of a starving man who just found a perfectly cooked noodle soup. "I'll take two please. And throw in one of the Laochra Assault Rifles too, I'm sure it'll make a great birthday present for someone."

The salesman beamed a huge grin and laughed. "Fantastic!" he yelled. "Get yourself in to the fittin' room and we'll get crackin'. Can't have you runnin' around without a fitted stock and adjusted sights now, can we?"
He gestured to what looked just like a fitting room, complete with curtain and mirror, at the side of the stand. "We'll get a few measurements from you and you can pick up your guns in a few hours when they've been re-modelled special."

Inside the fitting room was an old, wiry man with a tape measure around his neck. He looked down his nose at Han and said, with an accent that would make the old monarchs of Britain complain about sounding snobbish, "Please hold out your arms. I should only need a moment to work, sir."

The 'tailor' worked quickly, grabbing Han's hands and wrists and measuring various positions and circumferences. He pressed against the agent's hands to see how strongly each one resisted movement and even recorded the exact range of movement each finger was capable of. After a couple of minutes the man said "I must congratulate Sir on his hands. They appear to be the tools of a master craftsman. I do enjoy knowing that my weapons are being handled by marksmen with some semblance of talent. Please return in two hours. I shall be preparing the wooden stocks presently."

And just like that, the curtain opened and the old man slipped away behind the display to go to his work.

Post  Ida Salcedo Tue Mar 20, 2012 10:31 am

Ida looked over the IMA weapons with glee, shuddering slightly when she saw the Mhilleadh. "Excuse me," she said as she regathered her composure. "I'd like to purchase one of these" - she gestured at the automatic shotgun - "as a surprise gift for a friend who really needs a well-crafted weapon like one of yours to learn what shooting's all about. She always seems reluctant about these things - I think she's been let down by low-quality weaponry in the past - so I wouldn't be able to get her over here for fitting, but I've got machine-approximated measurements and footage of her using guns..." She held up a drive containing all the relevant data on Darya that Ida had been able to passively gather through missions and taking photos around the house. "Would that provide enough information for you to work with, or...? I might be able to get her specific measurements if you need them. I want this gun to be the best it can be for her, and time and money are no obstacle."

((OOC: I want this to be the highest condition possible, even if that's Artifact.))

The Irish gentleman at the stall looked Ida up and down and nodded to her. "Hhmm... Well, we normally only let people get fitted for their weapons in person. Our weaponsmiths do a damned fine job, well worth the credits you'll see. But if time and money aren't a problem... Well then I guess we'll be able to figure somethin' out. Can I get your business card? I'll give you a call once I've had a word with our head guy."

Ida reached into her pocket and pulled out a card. "Here you go. I hope that you can work something out, but if not then I understand.

"I'm also interested in commissioning one of your Loachra rifles for my own use - one of the highest quality you can make. Like I said before, what it costs or how long crafting it may take doesn't matter to me."

((OOC: I'm after an Artifact-quality one, or as close as I can get.))

The salesman took Ida's business card and made a long whistling sound as he appraised it. "Not with EI huh? That must be some good work you're doing to be pulling in creds for our kit. Step into the fitting booth and we'll see what we can do; you may have to drop by the main factory in a week or so for the really good stuff. We just got in a new shipment of magnetic coils for this baby, they look like they were made by an archon, they're so smooth."
