Week 58: What is the collective noun for Telepaths?

Parvati's appartment in New Delhi's spire gleamed from extended polishing and scrubbing of every surface that wasn't covered in carpet or paint. The place itself was large an almost cavernous main room was decorated with lots of fake wood and rich colours, replete with bright reds and brilliant golds contrasted with pure whites. The scent of incense mixed with the remaining smells of cooking that wafted from the spotless but well used kitchen that dominated a good quarter of the main room.

A hallway stretched off to the right from the main door, faint candle light could be seen glittering from one of the rooms further down glimmering in the gilt rimmed mirror that hung on the wall there.

Parvati looked around with a critical eye and moved to plump one of the crimson cushions that clustered on the white wicker effect sofa that faced the holo-screen which presently showed a view out of the sun shining down on the carefully preserved Taj Mahal.

She wiped her hands nervously on the crimson sari that she wore before forcing her self to sit and await her guests arrival, years of meditation dropping her breathing into a slow and steady rhythem as she does so.

It had been quite a long trip from the Moon to New Delhi, but it was a journey that Ace had gladly embarked on in a spirit of self discovery and helpfulness. Since he had visited Jerusalem the first time with Pavarti much had changed, both within and without. With the help of the Order of the True Faith Ace had awakened his innate abilities and become a Telepath, but that was merely the first step. While Pavarti had helped train him a little bit he was still very Scientific in nature and he believed that this power was his, his belief in himself giving him strength, rather than some outside force. He could understand the value of religion, but he mainly understood the value of people.

It was always difficult to learn new things, but Ace relished the opportunity. He was very out of place here, a stranger in a strange land, but if one looked hard enough things were all the same under the surface. After several hours of wondering around the city, taking in the atmosphere, sights and sounds Ace arrived at the Spire and made his way up to Pavarti's apartment. After passing some very stringent security checks, of course. He stood outside the door and simply knocked.

Parvati took a deep breath, It wasn't so much that she was worried about who her guests were as she was worried about guests in general. She took a last glance around at the apartment before moving to the door and opening it. Her nervous smile becoming more real as she sees Ace.

"Hey" She says "Ace, Please come in. I hope you didn't have any problems getting here." She moves out of his way to let him in and closes the door behind him "Karishma contacted me about an hour ago saying she'd be a little late but she is coming.

Crossing back to the kitchen she speaks over her shoulder "Do make yourself comfortable. Would you like a drink?" she asks motioning to the sofa and to the table in the middle of the room.

With a smile Ace greeted Pavarti as he entered her home.

"Good mornin', Pavarti." He had a good look at the place as he moved slowly and purposefully towards the proffered sofa. "No problems, apart from the Spire security who were very curious about some of the things I carry round, but everything is legal and licensed so they couldn't hold me for long. The flight in was fine and I enjoyed having a wander around the city."

He sat on the sofa and sank back into it, relishing the first moment of relaxation, however brief, that he had been able to snatch for a while.

"This is a nice place you have here. How're you settling in?"

As Karishma hurried towards the apartment she reflected a little on the slight nostalgia that New Delhi had invoked on her arrival; the sights, sounds and smells of the city were small reminders of her life before she'd lost trust in those that had once trained and nurtured her. At this point she reminded herself that she was already late, and picked up her speed once again.

Some time and many security checks later, Karishma finally found herself standing in front of Parvati's front door. After a couple of calming, deep breaths and a quick smooth down of her long yellow dress, she knocked smartly three times near the middle of the door and waited patiently for a response.
