Space Ships Empty Space Ships

Post  Admin Thu Sep 27, 2012 12:47 pm

Here are some changes to the space travel available in the setting in order to balance and clarify a few things. I'll also post some space craft details.

Far Drive
Shuttles no longer have far drive. They are built to go from a space port on Earth into orbit, and then either to the moon or an orbital facility. Far Drive enabled ships are used only to go to Mars or more distant destinations and are not easily available.

Travelling to the Moon
Reaching the moon is itself a minor action and takes a full day each way. For convenience a single minor action will cover both directions of the flight. I will not implement a monetary cost for taking the trip, since I cannot be bothered to keep track of that.

Travelling to Orbital Stations
Going to an orbital station like the AMS station is a minor action, but this includes the journey both ways and the visit itself.

Travelling to Miller Urey
Miller Urey can be considered to be as far from Earth as the Moon and is more secure. Only regularly scheduled Corporate flights can enter the space around Miller Urey for security reasons, so do not rely on your own transport for getting in or out of there.

Space Ships Empty Modified Shuttle

Post  Admin Thu Sep 27, 2012 12:53 pm

Modified Shuttle
This craft used to be a standard domestic shuttle but has been equipped with some weapon and had some armour plating bolted onto it. This is the most common ship in use by space pirates and Corporation divisions who do not wish to alert anyone to their presence by sending in fighter craft. It has a cargo bay large enough for a 10 man team, a pilot and a gunner.
The vessel is well armoured and the inclusion of a turret makes it a formidable force despite its civilian beginnings.
Technically this is a civilian vessel and has an EMPS of 22, which is a serious problem.

HP: 130
AV: 15
Shield Maximum: 200
DM: -2
Speed: 800 MPH in atmosphere (as a falling brick). Not agile in space.
Cost: 750,000 credits

Weapon systems:
2 x Hidden turrets capable of housing a heavy weapon each, or two tactical weapons each.

Space Ships Empty Orbital Fighters

Post  Admin Thu Sep 27, 2012 12:59 pm

Ai Jinn Orbital Fighter
Ai Jinn Orbital fighters are the standard fighter craft encountered in space and are almost always guarding Ai Jinn property. Other corporations will make their own craft, but they are rarely for sale on the open market. Fighters utilise ion drives and chemical thrusters to travel, but this only provides a short range and the craft will need to return to a larger ship for refuelling after two days of flight.
They have space for 4 heavy weapons systems (or one ordnance weapon) and 2 'missile' class weapons. They can carry a single pilot, but some two-seater models are available.

HP: 70
AV: 8
Maximum Shield: 100
Speed: Very fast and agile (No atmospheric flight capability)
DM: +2
Cost: 500,000

Space Ships Empty Destroyer Class Space Ship

Post  Admin Fri Nov 16, 2012 8:33 pm

Harbinger - Destroyer Class Space Ship
HP: 700
AV: 25
Maximum Shield: 2000
Speed: Fast but not agile (No atmospheric flight capability and cannot land on the Moon)
DM: -4
Cost: 15,000,000 (not including weapons or internal security systems)

The Harbinger is a publicly available space ship designed for escort duties in busy space lanes. The blueprints were published on the WDN by an unknown group or individual and were put into development by Ai Jinn engineers. Each Harbinger is custom made to the client's requirements in Ai Jinn orbital factories and can take a large range of shapes without significantly affecting the ship's performance and capabilities.
Harbingers do not come with a far drive and can act as a home base for fighter craft such as Ai Jinn Orbital Fighters. Up to eight fighter craft can be based on a Harbinger.
Up to five Ordnance class weapons can be installed on destroyer class ships, and countless smaller weapons can be fitted on turrets inside to secure the ship from intruders.

Space Ships Empty Fighter-Bomber Space Craft

Post  Admin Fri Nov 16, 2012 8:49 pm

Western Federation Grizzly - Fighter-Bomber Space Ship
HP: 100
AV: 12
Maximum Shield: 250
Speed: Slow and steady (No atmospheric flight capability)
DM: 0
Cost: 3,000,000

The WF developed the Grizzly fighter-bomber to counter the threat of Ai Jinn orbital bombardment and control of space. The ship has space for up to three people; one pilot and two gunners.
The pilot has control of a forward firing anti-vehicle rotary cannon (MoW page 33) and two rocket launchers.
Each gunner controls a specially built plasma weapon that can only be used in space and at relatively short ranges. The "Plasma Launcher" fires a dense orb of plasma fire at a nearby target at a relatively slow speed. Each plasma shell deals 8D10+8 plasma damage. Unless fired from extremely close range the target ship may make an Agility + Pilot roll with the attacker's XS as a penalty in order to dodge the plasma shell.
