Week 2 Debriefing

Week 2 – Shanghai munitions research facility

The team spent a day in Shanghai to prepare for the mission and ensure up to date intelligence. This was mostly uneventful, though Darya did capture a small-time criminal and turn them into the UIG for a small reward.
The infiltration began by entering the facility through the sewers underneath old Shanghai. Most of the team then remained hidden in the toilets while Pinkie and Xu made their way to the security office. Pinkie remained invisible while Xu camouflaged himself as a scientist. Xu was immediately approached by a security guard and brought into the security office to confirm his ID.
When it looked as if his cover would be blown, Xu and Pinkie attacked the 4 guards and attempted to kill them quickly enough to prevent an alarm. They almost achieved this, but one of the guards fell onto the alarm switch, a most unlucky occurrence.
The alarm gave the team around 5 minutes before some kind of armed response would arrive. Xu used the security office to sound a general evacuation of the building. Meanwhile, two labs were filled with knock out gas and data and prototypes were taken. After equipment and data were seized the labs were then destroyed or damaged heavily.
An undercover WF agent was discovered in one of the labs and asked to be taken with the group. He was captured for later.
Depersonalised and outlawed humans were being used as targets in the weapon testing range. Han Ji freed them, but they succumbed to their injuries shortly afterwards.
After around 7 minutes Pinkie encountered a Malenbrach entering through the elevator system and attempted to fire a stolen prototype weapon. The weapon injured both Pinkie and Ida, who was nearby, with arcs of electricity. The malenbrach backed off for long enough for Pinkie, Ida and Han Ji to escape back towards the entry point.
Sosie used equipment in the workshop to create a ‘megabomb’ and then threw this down the corridor to the elevator with a 10 second timer.
The team managed to escape into the sewers as the bomb detonated and escaped, also detonating a second set of explosives in the sewers to cover their tracks.

A very good haul from the mission, but far too much collateral damage. The UIG would not be happy if they knew that Oracle was responsible for essentially destroying an apartment block and killing a malenbrach. We can do better than this in the future.
