Early Week 78: The Wolf and the Phoenix

Pulling in to the Phoenix car park in her new car, Fenris decided to smeak ahead. Hey Han, you in? If so, do mind if we talk? She sounded a little reluctant, but she was going to push through it. If anyone was going to understand, it would be Han. If anything, he hated the Ai Jinn more than her. She parked up, and started heading round to the lobby. But then Hugo seemed to have just assumed everything would be fine, despite what he did. Did he actually realize what he was doing? Fenris just didn't know.

Han dropped from the suspended bar he was hanging off onto the roof of Phoenix, his private gym and training ground. Sure thing. I'm up on the roof. Come on up, I'll make sure Security don't shoot you." Han laughed a little at the concept of anyone even spotting Fenris, let alone being able to shoot her, but notified security that she was a guest all the same.

He jumped back onto the bar, and began his pullup routine once more. He was clad in his full suit of Guan Yu armour, minus the helmet, using the suit to help train his body to move around the armour.

The free-runner shrugged to herself, not bothering with the lobby, and heading straight for the uncovered wall instead. I know how to get past security, Han. It's kind of what I do. Taking a short run up, Fenris was able to flow up the wall onto the roof. (pass agility athletics by 15)"But thanks anyway." She took a while taking in the roof of Phoenix, this was unexpected. And so was the Guan Yu. Fenris hadn't seen one of those since... Well, not for a while. "How long have you had this place?" As she was talking, Fenris was slowly making her way over to the younger Agent, taking a good look at the various obstacles presented on Han's roof.

"Oh, I know that. It is after all what we do for a living, right?" He grunted as he pulled himself and touched his chin on the bar. "As for this place? It's been here nearly as long as I have, long before I even owned Phoenix. Look off the side, you'll see the crater from when I was still learning to free run up here. I just like to... He let his arms relax falling back down to just off the ground, exhaling softly. "Come up here and relax, get a work out in, you know. So, what can I do for you Fenris? Something up?"

Fenris sighed. She came here for a reason, and Han had gotten straight to the point. "Hugo." She suddenly stopped, breaking off her inspection to look directly at Han. "You know you can speak mandarin if you'd prefer. I really don't mind. But Hugo..." She continued moving round the assault course as she carried on. "I just need to talk to someone who might understand" She was exasperated, the nuke had clearly gotten under her skin. "You've met Dani right? The Ai Jinn Nuke? Well since she is apparently the best person in the world, Hugo decided that she had to move in with us. After a few fucking days!" Fenris was just ranting now, though it did seem like she'd been planning out what she was going to say. She had clearly been stewing over this for days.

"Eh, the guy who raised me was of English descent, so I was pretty much raised speaking both." He dropped down and approached a pair of paralell bars. "You don't mind if I keep working out while we talk do you? He lifted himself up and began to swing his body back and forth, armour clanking softly, the audio supression muffling it down to a soft dull clink. "I've met Dani. She seemed...reasonable. We agreed that the Ai-Jinn sucked, which does win points in my book. But I'm guessing you're not a fan? Or is it just the not getting a chance to know them before they suddenly moved in?" Han's legs began to move in a circular motion, blurring slightly as they did so. Agility Athletics pass by 9

"Oh, no! I didn't even get to meet her before she "had" to move in!" Fenris had always been bad at hiding her emotions, and now was no exception. she was getting more and more consumed by her own anger at her housemate. "And did he ask me? Fuck no! Why would he need to do that?" Her voice was dripping with sarcasm. "No, I wasn't aware of any of it until he deigned to introduce me to the woman he had invited into my house! Not to mention letting me know she was Ai Jinn! That bastard knew what they did! He saw it!" She looked like she wanted to break something, possibly Hugo, but there was nothing to hand, so she just had to ball her hands into white knuckled fists. "Fuck! It's hard enough living in this fucking city, with the Ai Jinn all over it. But that's not enough apparently! Hugo had to have them in my fucking home!"

"Eeesh. Well, that's nukes for you. Don't get me wrong, Hugo's a decent Agent, a lot lighter on the collateral then most nukes, especially while using a gun like that cannon of his...but honestly, the guy doesn't strike me as the most emotionally considerate guy going, from what I've heard."

Han dismounted, turning to look Fenris in the eye. "Look, it sounds like Hugo was in the wrong there, I'll agree. I mean, other issues aside, he should definitely have run it past you guys before just inviting a stranger to live with you. But honestly... I dunno, was Hugo aware of how you felt after the incident? I mean, if he's never been in that situation, he might not get it. A lot of agents who haven't had those experiences probably don't get that some wounds scar in places you can't heal that easy." He unconciously stroked the large scar running down his face.

"Tell me something...the way you feel about the Ai-Jinn, or those associated with them: is that how you feel about me? Because, I don't want to feel like I'm making you uncomfortable or whatever."

Fenris' reaction was fast and clear, at first. But she started to flounder when she tried to elaborate. "What? No! You're... Different. You... You were there. You're about as far from Ai Jinn as you can get... Kind of." Her anger tempered a little by Han's curve ball, she threw herself down onto a makeshift seat. "But he has to have figured it out by now. We've been living in the same gods damned house! And it's not like I'm good at hiding this kind of stuff. He must have known."

"Thanks Fenris. Means a lot to hear you say that." Han smiled as he leaned against the wall.
"Look, an average person, grown up with normal people...yeah, you're right, they probably would have spotted it. But a lot of Agents...well, not everyone was neccesarily all that well socialised. A lot of people still really struggle to see things that you might see as blindingly obvious. They need things spelling out for them, or putting in their face before they see it." He paused for a moment, his voice dropping, along with his eyes. "I mean... when I first came to Oracle, I had next to no idea how things like that worked. Even now, I still have trouble."

He looked back up. "I think Hugo genuinely never considered the affect of brining Agent Pedroza into your home. Stupid, sure. Inconsiderate? Totally. But probably not malicious, at least."

She just sat there staring at the floor between her feet. "Maybe not. But it doesn't make him any less of an asshole. He shouldn't have been so thoughtless! Is it really too much to ask for your friends to actually think about how you might feel?"

"Seems plenty reasonable to me, Fenris. But then, way I see it, I'm not exactly the one you've gotta convince, am I?" He grabbed a water bottle from his belt and took a swig, briefly swashing the liquid around his mouth before swallowing. "Maybe you should be having this conversation with Hugo himself?"

"I might if he hadn't run off somewhere with his new friend. Fuck knows where they are! And somehow I doubt they're gonna want to tell me." She really didn't sound like she cared too much about the situation. She was there to vent, she didn't want another argument right now.
