Week 67: (On the world view) If ninja fight in a dojo, will they make a sound?
The private dojo Shap had booked was spartan and functional, yet the E.I. interior designer had managed to give it an air of luxury and sophistication; like this dojo was what all other dojo wished they were but knew, deep down in their crash-mat padded hearts, they could never be. It's in-built sense of eliteness engendered awe in not only other rooms but those people who dared to enter it. In every person who set foot upon the padded floor, the sense that the room itself was watching them with disdain was unshakeable - They had not booked the room: it had deigned to allow them to dance and flail for its amusement and that no matter how elegant their kata, no matter well-placed the strikes were, no matter how much muscle-burn they inflicted upon themselves, they would always end there sessions feeling like the fat kid in gym class who had finally managed to climb all the way up to the top of the rope and looked down hoping for praise only to be met with the unimpressed gaze of the teacher who's only response was "hurry up and get down, your holding up the line." Nothing ever impressed the Dojo.
Shap sat on the floor, resting against the wall with all the decorum and sense of awe of a street urchin. Naked except for a pair black exercise shorts, the elaborate tattoos that covered his neck, shoulders and outer-arms were clearly on display as were the scar running diagonally from collar bone to bottom of rib-cage and the discolouration of the left side of his lower-back. The absence of fat and abundance of compact muscle was also evident. The only other items Shap wore were his lensesTM and a small wrist-watch-like device strapped to his arm.
The device bleeped informing him that someone was waiting outside the room to get in; acknowledging that it was Shinobu Shap granted access and a doorway slide open in the wall.

Shinobu strolled in casually looking particularly ambiguous, wearing a grey gi and carrying their usual plasma katana at their waist, their blond hair tied back in a short ponytail. Shinobu looked around at the dojo, clearly impressed by its style. "Nice," the ninja muttered under their breath in a female voice. Shinobu's eyes moved to Shap, evaluating the taller agent's form, and then Shinobu smiled at him cheerfuly.
"Hello, Shap! So," Shinobu said in a male voice as he unsheathed his plasma katana and locked it to "depowered" before resheathing it. "How do you want to do this?"

I didn't think I'd catch Shinobu out this way, but doesn't hurt to try. Shap mentally shrugged to himself as he pushed up and away from the wall. "Hello Shinobu, you'll want to put this on first." he instructed, handing Shinobu a device identical to the one around his wrist. "It allows the dojo to track you movements within it so you can see how you did later; it'll ask to access your bio-status monitor and you-view so it can records those for you too." Shap explained, turning his back to Shinobu and walking towards the dojo wall. "It also allows you to access the dojo's controls, which means you can do stuff like this-"[/color] reaching the wall, he extended his arm pressed his hand against an indistinguishably different part of the wall which after a moment gave way as a larger section of the wall slid sideways revealing a weapon wrack. Shap surveyed the weapons before choosing a finely-crafted sabre, which must have been worth several thousand credits, and weighed it for balance while turning back to Shinobu "As you brought your own, we'll start there before moving out of your weaponry-comfort zone."
Shap answered finally, taking up a duelling stance and waiting for Shinobu to take the initiative.

Shinobu pulled out the plasma katana once again and took an aggressive stance, circling slowly before charging at Shap.
---------
"I believe this counts as my win, yes?" Shinobu asked Shap, who was pinned to the ground with the "blade" of Shinobu's sword against his neck. "If this was still switched on you'd have one less head to worry about, Spider-kun." With a smile, Shinobu reached down to help Shap up and led him to medical attention.
Soon, the two were sat together in front of a screen, watching over the recorded footage of the fight while Shap was poked at with medpacks and other drugs."So, how do you think you did?"
