Aegis Personal Defender XS - Ranged Tazer Weapon
Class: Light Firearm
Damage: Stun
Cost: 750
Range: 10m

Ammo: 1 shot, 5 electrical bursts
Like the Aegis Personal Defender (Core rules, page 41), the Defender XS doesn't knock targets out. Instead, it uses a short electrical burst, delivered by two projectile spikes, to cause the target to violently spasm. If hit the target must roll under Perception+Endurance with a penalty equal to the attacker's XS. If they do not succeed, they are rendered unable to act for D4 rounds. This weapon has no effect on Agents or anyone else with ICE technology.
If the target failed their roll then the user can activate the PD-XS again in order to deliver up to 5 more shocks in order to keep an assailant down until help arrives. The spikes cannot be recovered by the user, but Aegis will reload the weapon free of charge.
The PD-XS does not require a light firearms license to carry, due to a carefully crafted campaign by Aegis to convince the UIG that having these on the market would help the world's citizens to defend themselves. Aegis also help fund a UIG run course in using the RPD. However, the high price has caused it to not be widely picked up where it is most needed. They tend to be carried by open city citizens wishing to defend themselves from muggers.

Richenbacher WASP Tactical Knife
Richenbacher WASP Tactical Knife - Compressed Air Injector Knife - (Descendant of this)

Damage: D4 + Str / 3D6 + Str (Mashing)

Ammo: Gas canisters (10 credits each)
The WASP can be used as an ordinary knife but contains a canister of compressed air inside the handle to allow a more gruesome special attack. The user can stab the target and then release the gas inside their victim's body, causing 3D6 + Str mashing damage.
The small canister only contains enough gas for a single special attack. Reloading the canister in combat is a full round action.
The WASP is legal for anyone of rank 1+ to carry without a license, and rank 0 citizens can be allowed to use the weapon after a one week training course costing 200 credits.

Ammo: Plasma recharge canisters (100 credits each)
The HORNET is based on the WASP design and replaces the compressed air injection system with a miniature plasma generator. The HORNET is larger than the Arclight Plasma Dagger and has a lower rate of attack when used as a normal melee weapon.
The user can make a special attack with this weapon that injects a significant amount of hot plasma into a target, or just sprays it onto the target if the blade does not pierce their armour. This damage is considered mashing.
The plasma generator will need recharging after a single attack. Reloading the plasma recharge canister is a full round action.
The HORNET requires the powered melee license to own and carry. The powered melee training is recommended for all users to avoid accidental self-immolation.
